Mail Force has teamed up with an NHS duo and a Hollywood actress to deliver vital PPE to care homes.

Care homes on the frontline of the Coronavirus pandemic will receive one million free surgical masks thanks to the work of two campaigning NHS doctors, a Hollywood star and Mail Force.

Healthcare workers are being supported by 1 World Medical, a new organisation set up by surgeon Sanjay Purkayastha and GP Anu Pate. The new initiative, backed by actress Thandie Newton and with the wholehearted support of the Mail Force campaign, is delivering much needed masks to care homes.

Tracking down and delivering large quantities of PPE isn’t easy, especially for two full-time NHS medics. So, the pair sought the advice of Mail Force. With the charity’s support, boxes of surgical masks are now on their way to 130 care homes across London, including the 115 bed Victoria Care Centre in Acton.

Care Centre manager, Basu Lamichhane, said: “We are so grateful to organisations like 1 World Medical and Mail Force. It means that PPE is now one less thing for our staff to worry about.”
